Pre-School

Welcome to Castlemorton Caterpillars Pre-School

At Castlemorton, we believe every child is unique, and our mission is to help them shine their brightest.  Our pre-school is a place of wonder, discovery and joy, where children aged between 2 years 9 months and 4 embark on a journey of learning and growth.

Our Philosophy
We follow a child-centred approach, fostering creativity, independence, and a love for learning.  Our experiences and caring staff create a nurturing environment where children feel safe and inspired to explore their world. We are passionate about the outdoors and the positive impact it has on wellbeing.

What Makes Us Special

  • Holistic Curriculum: Our curriculum is designed to stimulate cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Passionate Educators: Our dedicated teachers and teaching assistants are passionate about early years education and provide personalised attention to each child.
  • Safe and Supportive Environment: We prioritise a bright, secure and stimulating environment both indoors and out, including our beautiful Forest School.
  • Play-Based Learning: We believe children learn best through play, so we incorporate play into every aspect of our curriculum.
  • Parent Partnership: We value open communication with parents and involve them in their child's educational journey.

We accept children from the age of two years nine months, or the term in which they are three years old. Caterpillars is open during the school term (38 weeks per year), Monday to Friday, from 8.45am to 3.15pm.  If you need extended hours, we also run a breakfast club from 8:00am each morning and wraparound care until 6pm each afternoon.

We accept 15 hours universal government funding for 3 & 4-year-olds, 15 hours additional funding for working parents, and childcare vouchers. Additional hours, including breakfast club and wraparound care, can be booked at an extra charge.

If you would like to get to know us better, we run Little Ducklings on Wednesday mornings where adults and babies/children under 4 years can meet for a chat and play. More information about Ducklings can be found here.

Pre-School Policies

Many of the policies in place for school also cover pre-school. This is especially true of the Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy 2023 - 24 which applies to both the EYFS and primary phases. You can find more of our policies here.
