Vision, Values and Spirituality
Our Vision
At Castlemorton CE Primary School and Preschool, our vision is simple yet profound:
To express the love of God and make a difference in the world.
Our vision, as a church and community school, is to express the love of God, both in word and action, pursuing compassion, respect for others, courage, perseverance and justice, so that everyone in our community can achieve their full potential, as students and citizens, and make a difference in the world.
Our vision is rooted in the teaching of Jesus to “love one another as I have loved you” (John 13:34).
It inspires us to build a school family where everyone is known, valued and encouraged to flourish.
Our Christian Values
Our five core values shape all that we do and reflect the heartbeat of our vision:
• Compassion – We show kindness, empathy and care for others, following Jesus’ example of love.
• Respect – We value every person as unique and created in God’s image.
• Courage – We face challenges with hope and faith, standing up for what is right.
•Perseverance – We keep going, even when things are hard, learning from mistakes and celebrating effort.
•Justice – We seek fairness for all, recognising our responsibility to make the world a better place.
These values are lived out daily — in our relationships, our learning, our worship, and our service to our local and global communities.
Our Understanding of Spirituality
At Castlemorton, spirituality is at the heart of who we are and how we live.
It flows from our Christian vision to “express the love of God and make a difference in the world.”
We believe spirituality is the deep connection that gives meaning to our lives — a way of seeing the world with wonder, compassion and curiosity.
Spirituality is not confined to one subject or one moment in the day; it is woven through everything we do.
It grows as we encourage children and adults to explore four key relationships:
1. With ourselves – developing self-awareness, imagination, and resilience; learning to be still and reflective
2. With others – showing empathy, forgiveness and love in our relationships and community life
3. With the natural world – noticing the beauty of creation, feeling awe and wonder, and caring for the environment
4. With God and the beyond – asking big questions, exploring faith, and seeking meaning and purpose
Our approach to spirituality follows the Windows, Mirrors and Doors model:
• Windows – looking out to see the world in new ways and experience awe and wonder
• Mirrors – reflecting on our thoughts, feelings and beliefs
• Doors – responding through action, creativity, prayer or service
We provide moments of stillness, reflection and celebration throughout the curriculum, in collective worship and in the everyday life of our school.
In doing so, we aim to nurture children and adults who are spiritually alive, compassionate, courageous and ready to make a difference.
Flourishing Together
Everything we do at Castlemorton CE Primary School and Preschool — our learning, our worship, our play, our relationships — is about helping every child and adult to flourish.
We celebrate curiosity, wonder, imagination and love, trusting that by expressing the love of God in word and action, we can truly make a difference in the world.
