Operation Christmas Child – Bringing Joy Across the World

This year, Castlemorton CE Primary School, together with St Gregory’s Church, took part in the Operation Christmas Child Appeal – and we are delighted to share that 42 shoeboxes were sent to children in need around the world. This is a remarkable achievement for our school community, and we are extremely grateful to everyone who filled boxes, donated gifts, or supported the appeal in any way.

A special thank-you goes to Mrs Askew and the children in Discovery Club, who worked so thoughtfully and carefully to wrap and fill many of the boxes. Their careful work and attention to detail helped ensure that each box was packed with love and kindness, ready to bring joy to a child across the world.

Each shoebox carries more than just toys, school supplies and toiletries – it carries hope, joy and the message that someone cares. Through this appeal, our school values have been brought to life in real and meaningful ways.

Our children showed compassion, thinking about how their gifts might bring happiness to a child they will never meet.

They demonstrated perseverance, gathering items and filling boxes with care and dedication.

There was a strong sense of justice, as our community recognised that all children, wherever they live, deserve joy, dignity and the chance to feel special.

They showed respect, acknowledging different lives and cultures while giving generously.

And it all took courage – courage to give, to act, and to make a difference, even in small but powerful ways.

This appeal has been a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to live out our values through action, showing that kindness, generosity and hope can reach far beyond our village.
