We have begun our new topic ‘The Eagle Has Landed’ – all about the first moon landings which happened 50 years ago this July. We will looking at the technology and the people behind the Space Race, from WW2 to that exciting landing.
For homework this week, I would like you to complete a reading comprehension all about the life of Neil Armstrong, the first person to step onto the lunar surface.
For spellings we are focusing on words based on the root words ‘press’and ‘vent’ for Year 3 and words ending with –ar/-er for Year 4. Your test will be on Thursday.
Mymaths has been set for everyone. This week I would like you to focus on recall of your times tables facts. Year 4 have been trying out the multiplication screening check this week and will be taking part in the pilot programme during the week of 17th June, so it would be great for them to focus on the ‘beat the clock’ aspect of the homework this week.
Times Tables: Our usual test this week will focus on 6, 7 and 8 times tables.
Remember, our door is always open, if you have any questions or queries about what we do in class or concerns about your child please do come and see us. If you would like a longer chat, please arrange an appointment with Mrs Riley.
