Writing Wizard Required
| Press Release 15th November 2010 |
The children from Castlemorton CE Primary School are seeking an inventive, creative practitioner to inspire writing across the whole school.
The children have composed the following press release:
We want a writing wizard to cast a spell on our minds, to inspire our imaginations to pick up a pen and write, write, right! We are aiming high… we would like to be some of the best writers in the world. From composing formal letters and biographies, poems to stories we want to succeed at them all.
Have you got what it takes? We are looking for someone who can sprinkle writing dust in our brains to make our writing sparkle. You must be able to appeal to ages 4-11, use language we understand and listen to our ideas. If you are interesting, humorous, knowledgeable, fair, and able to expertly convince us that being a phenomenal writer can change your life… you are the one.
We are open to suggestions of how we could do this. We could work outside in our Forest School area, we could include music, dance and drama, with or without modern technology, or we could use these new skills to create a project or performance. This could be based around our school environment, or it could involve our link school in the Gambia or it could be the start of something completely new. Whatever the project contains, it must be exciting and active with a variety of listening, talking and active learning……good learning is memorable learning!!!

Note from the Headteacher
We are currently working on a new project to improve and inspire our learners to become exceptional writers. We are looking for a creative practitioner to support the work in school and have received a grant from the Arts Council to fund the project. The children have compiled the attached press release to raise awareness of this opportunity. We are open to working with writers, journalists, animators, artists, film makers, poets, storytellers, theatre companies… We are involving the children in the planning and development of the project including the recruitment process. The children will be assisting with the short listing and interviewing process in time for the selected practitioner to work with the school during the Spring Term 2011.
We are committed to safeguarding and meeting the needs of children. All those who come into contact with children through their every day work whether paid or voluntary have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. We welcome people into our school who follow our safeguarding policies and guidance.
To arrange a photo opportunity or for more information please contact Mrs Janet Adsett (Headteacher) on 01684 833282 or email-office@castlemorton.worcs.sch.uk.
