E safety Procedures
E-safety is about how we use the internet in school and also about teaching children safe practices to use at home and elsewhere.
We ask parents to sign a consent form at the start of the school year to allow their children to use the Internet in school. This allows them to access a wealth of resources to help with their learning and to develop vital ICT skills.
We minimise the risks associated with use of the Internet, e-mail and other communications technologies in a number of ways. We use Worcestershire County Council’s site blacklisting and filtering services which block undesirable sites including those that feature social media, messaging and blogging. We monitor and receive reports on all use of the Internet in school including terms typed into web pages and search engines. We also teach children how to use the Internet responsibly and safely, and what to do if they inadvertently come across inappropriate content.

At home, we realise that you may not have such robust procedures in place. However, e-safety is something that every parent should consider. The Thinkuknow website provides advice and tips for parents. (https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/parents/Primary/)
